October 2 2009, Karen L. Jett, CMA was among four individuals recently inducted into the Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame..
Longtime client Maryann Volk of the Center for Families and Relationships, where Jett serves as part-time Controller, nominated Jett. “While Karen is our Controller, she is so much more. She serves as a mentor, advisor, one who supports, encourages, and promotes growth for all employees.” Volk said.
At the awards ceremony, Jett, President of Jett Excellence, a company that turns values into business practices, talked of getting an education in her own way. “I was accepted to and had a partial scholarship to a four year college, but I wanted to get an education on my own terms. I believe I made the right choice by choosing to work during the day and take classes at night. I was with students who truly wanted to be there. My family scoffed at the idea, but eventually they saw my determination to do things my way,” said Jett, who pulled into her remarks lyrics from the Frank Sinatra song, My Way.
Ms. Jett, who lives with her farmer/husband in Telford, is scheduled to be interviewed by MCCC President Dr. Karen A. Stout on “MCCC On The Air” that is heard on WNPV 1440 am on her newest book Grow your People, Grow your Business.
