4 Simple Steps to Strategic Learning

What is strategic learning? It is a directed approach to growing your business.

Step 1:

The first step is to identify what you most need to learn to catapult you to the next level. What is holding you back? What do you most need to do better? Where are you weakest? Once you have awareness, you are able to act.

Step 2:

The second step to strategic learning is to seek out the information you desire. What seminars are offered by your local chamber or other association you belong to? Who do you know that is really good at this? What books are people recommending on the subject?

Step 3:

Once you have found the resources, it is up to you to attend, read, listen, question, and learn. And then go get more or go deeper until you have found the information you are looking for.

Step 4:

But, you cannot stop there. Mere knowledge will not help to propel you and your business to the next level. No, it’s necessary to synthesize and integrate this information into your every day actions. The fourth step is application of what you have learned.

A great way to apply what you learned is to use it as a filter through which you view your business environment. When you slide this filter into place, it starts to capture opportunities to change that you never noticed before.

As you start to act on those items that you catch, both you and your business begin to grow and change. And that is strategic learning!

Have an excellent day!

I post this blog as I am off to a conference prepared to do my own strategic learning. What are you doing to strategically enhance your learning this summer?
